Eurobasket chooses seasoned agent Chris Warren as its next manager of the Eurobasket Summer League!
Chris Warren, president of Warren Sports International, located in Indianapolis, Indiana was appointed manager of the Eurobasket Summer League by Marek Wojtera of Eurobasket. Chris will assume the duties of overseeing the summer league immediately. Chris Warren is currently in negotiations with several sites where ESL will be located in summer of 2012. Thus far it looks like we will be holding the ESL in these cities: Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Atlanta, New York and Italy. The summer league in Italy is being planned as a replacement for the traditional Treviso Summer League that is no longer running. Chris Warren has stated, 'that we are very excited to be holding the summer league in Forli, Italy and we are working with team officials from Fulgor Libertas Basketball Club of Forli, Italy where the summer league will be run. I have always thought that a location such as this where coaches can come to a central location in Europe during the summer which happens to be a very nice vacation spot, would be great place to hold a camp of summer league. We feel like this will be something that will be very promising for years to come.' Also, there will be a Coaches clinic held at the Forli, Italy location and the Indianapolis, Indiana location at the same time as the summer league. According to Chris Warren, John Spezia will be responsible for the organization of the coaches clinic as well as assisting with other duties with each summer league. Both John and I felt that with the amount of coaches that we plan on having at each event, why not hold a couple of coaches clinic so that coaches can pick up some new strategies from each other as well as top level players.' Lastly, there will be a women's Eurobasket Summer League held during the final four for women in Denver this spring of 2012.
'We are very pleased and excited that we have a dynamic new manager with proven leadership, diverse interests and a strong background. Chris has the passion not only for basketball, but has strong organizational skills as well. Chris is a true basketball man, energetic and engaging, he is ideally suited to marshal the talent to maximize the potential of the Eurobasket Summer League as a world leader in professional basketball players acquiring jobs in playing overseas or stateside, said Marek Wojtera, Sports IT director of Eurobasket. According to Chris Warren, most camps during the summer are held as moneymakers for agents who cannot attract the coaches nor can they get jobs for their players. Therefore, these agents or camp coordinators benefit monetarily on the hopes and dreams of these aspiring players trying to get a contract professionally. The ESL will have high level players, agents, scouts, pro gms and coaches who will all be looking for talented individuals to sign.'

Coming in at NUMBER 1 scorer and leading the race to MVP this season has to be Anthony Lee-Ingram of the Perry Lakes Hawks! Australia
Anthony's Statistics this season in SBL of Australia have been staggering and mind blowing! Here are his stats thus far; 29.7 PPG, 15.5 RPG, 2.6 ASP, 51.3% FG, 45.2% 3P and 80.5% FT. Article in Perth newspaper is as follows. "I think it fair to say that this guy is a box score stuffer! With 2 Power Player of the week awards under his belt and being very close on all other occasions, this Perry Lakes swingman is definitely one of the best Imports to venture into our league over the past few years. Standing at 6 ft 4 inches, Lee is an animal on the glass, pulling in 15.5 per game which is unheard of for someone of his length. He can play multiple positions on the floor which makes him a nightmare matchup for opponents. I personally saw him tear apart the Wolfpack when they overcame a 23 point deficit in round 8, and Lee was huge part of the rally in that game. He continues to be a force on the offensive glass, and loves to assert his authority when faced by a smaller defensive player. If you go big on Lee, he can take you off the dribble or pull up for sweet jumper. Either way you look at it, he has taken a moderate Perry Lakes outfit (who have recently been boosted with the addition of Ben Purser, and will continue to grow with the addition of Peter Crawford) to a top 4 spot on the ladder. Anthony Lee is a perfect example of how to compete; his energy and will to win have me putting him as the man to chase for the Race to this year’s MVP!"

Oliver Braun and New York Phantoms Lose Court Battle Over False Claims!
Andrew Drevo was back in Braunschweig this morning, not for a game, but to respond to false claims of Oliver Braun, the GM of the New York Phantoms, that Drevo is unable to play for Bremerhaven. Oliver Braun had initialy tried to file an injuction last week keeping Andrew from playing for Bremerhaven because he was upset that Andrew was back in Germany playing for a top tier team, but that was stopped by our Law firm in Germany and never honored. Therefore, a Judge ordered Oliver Braun to Court today to prove any claim that he thought he may have that would justify the argument set forth by Braun to keep Drevo from playing for Bremerhaven. Oliver Braun, the GM of Braunschweig did not even show up to Court today and sent his assistant as he probably knew what the outcome was going to be. After various attempts by Oliver Braun to threaten Andrew Drevo in the press and extort money out of him, which we never answered to, were all answered in a courtroom today as a Judge sided with Andrew Drevo and demanded that there is not one claim whatsoever true set forth by Oliver Braun and the New York Phantoms. This was purely a personal vindictive case that Braun was trying to make against Drevo and a case Braun was so desperately trying to win. In the end, Oliver Braun did not believe that an American Agent would have so perfectly set up for all his clients, a law firm to handle such matters wherever they play. Furthermore, Braun probably did not realize that it just happens to be, that in Germany we have one of the best firms with the top Labor Law Attorney in Germany. The false claims and lies of Braun finally caught up with him today as his creditability and fitness as a GM now comes into question. So, today it is proven that anything Oliver Braun said previously pertaining to this case is, and was, totally false.

Townsville, Australia Signs Rolan Roberts!
The Townsville Crocodiles have signed Rolan Roberts to a very lucrative deal as their first import for season 2009/10. The 6 foot 7 inch Roberts was a member of the championship winning Sydney Kings in 2005, the clubs third championship. Weighing 115-kilograms Roberts is an upgrade in interior presence and known for being a strong rebounder and shot blocker. He will bring European league experience to the Crocs after playing for Ovarense Aerosoles-Dolce Vita, a team within Portugals top national mens league that played for their Championship this past season. Roberts had been on the Crocs radar for some time as the club looks to secure a maiden championship in the 'new' NBL. 'It's important this season to make some changes enabling us to move closer to winning a championship. If we retained the same side there might be a chance of not going to the next level', said Ian Smythe the clubs Chief Executive Officer.
"The opportunity arose to recruit Rolan and a player with Rolans pedigree is hard to say no to. He has shown in this league that he can make an impact and if the Crocs are to move up we need players like this". "Rolan compliments the roster and were very excited to have him here for season 2009-2010", said Mr Smythe.

WSI Summer Workouts at Champions Academy Bring Chances for Players in NBA!
During the month of May and June most of the WSI players went through grueling workouts with Ed Schilling of Champions Academy and that work has paid off for many. The Indiana Pacers have been great this summer and came to our faclility twice to see our workouts and players, free agents as well as the rookies. Then, the Indiana Pacers brought individually selected players in for third workouts at their facility to compete against other Rookies and Free Agents. Also, many NBA teams were in constant contact with Chris Warren and Ed Schilling following the progress of the workouts and that led to workouts of players with NBA teams outside of the Indiana Pacers as well. Players that worked out for NBA teams this summer include: Stephen McDowell, Anthony Smith, Shawntes Gary, Kevin Lisch, Justin Orr, Julien "Skip" Mills, Drew Naymick, Bryant McAllister, Andrew Drevo, TJ Bannister, Willie Irick, Brandon Crone, Kenny Lowe, Sean Barnette, Mark Walters and Tyler Dierkers. WSI would like to congratulate all these players for putting in the hard work during the month of May and June and wish all the best to the players who are participating in the NBA Summer League.
